The third annual SDGs Awards Ceremony took place on 30th May 2019 in the Czernin Palace at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The main foreign guest was Majken Gilmartin, co-founder of the Global Goals World Cup – the global football tournament for women activists, which was hosted by the Association of Social Responsibility in the Czech Republic for the first time in 2019.

The campaign for the SDGs Awards 2019 had a sports theme. On Wednesday 29 May 2019, one day before the SDGs Awards Ceremony, the first year of the women’s football tournament kicked off on Wenceslas Square in Prague. 150 amateur players from 18 different teams from all over the country played the game for a better world. A group of women from Czech Post known as the Yellow Ladies team, who played for Good Health and Well-Being, became Champions of the first Global Goals World Cup Prague.

SDGs Awards Ceremony

The SDGs Awards Ceremony 2019 was hosted by the actor, moderator and gastronomic enthusiast Lukáš Hejlík.

The guests were sitting around roundtables that represented the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The flower decorations were prepared by the social business Aranžérie. After the first part of the programme, the guests were invited to a sustainable vegetarian reception prepared by Zátiší Catering in the Czernin Palace at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs..

The sustainable trophies for the winners were made by Conscious & Craft using seven
materials for the future which were selected from and in cooperation with matériO Prague, an international library of innovative materials. The individual trophies were produced, for example, using building material made of rice hulls, recycled textiles or experimental raw materials made of egg shells. In addition to the trophies, the winners received traditional medals made of concrete in the shape of SDGs, again produced by Gravelli.
