People in Need
Supporting education in Syria

The war in Syria has continued for 7 years. Children are the most affected and in many cases, life in war is all they know. Education and school environment are their keys to dealing with their trauma. However, almost 2 millions of Syrian children cannot go to school. In 2014, People in Need started supporting six Syrian schools. Currently, the organisation supports 35 schools in the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib by maintaining them, contributing to teachers‘ salaries, distributing stationery and improving security. Psychosocial support for traumatized children is equally important. 11,230 students attend the schools and People in Need tries to prevent them from growing up as a lost generation.
